PlanPot is an iOS meal planning application developed and published by Anne-Laure Legoeuil ("we", "us", or "our"). You can reach us at the contact address provided in the App Store listing.
PlanPot does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information.
The following data is created and stored exclusively on your device:
PlanPot uses Apple’s CloudKit framework to synchronize this data between devices associated with your Apple ID when iCloud is enabled. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is not accessible to PlanPot or the developer.
This sync is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
PlanPot includes an optional AI-powered recipe import feature. When you use this feature, the text or image you submit is processed as follows:
Your recipe text or image, which may include recipe content, ingredient lists, screenshots, or photographs of recipes, is transmitted securely over an encrypted HTTPS connection to a Cloudflare Worker (a serverless proxy we operate), which forwards it to Google Gemini (Google LLC) for structured parsing. The result is returned to your device. No recipe data is stored on our Cloudflare Worker beyond the duration of the request.
We do not use submitted recipes or images to train our own AI models.
Cloudflare may process request metadata necessary to provide its infrastructure services. For more information see:
Google Gemini processes your data under Google’s terms and privacy policies. For more information on how Google handles AI-submitted data, see:
Use of the AI recipe import feature is optional. You can add recipes manually at any time without submitting any data to third parties.
When you share a recipe, PlanPot creates a short link (planpot.netlify.app/r/…). Unlike AI recipe import, this feature does store the recipe: the recipe you choose to share (its name, ingredients, quantities, servings, time, and notes) is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to a Cloudflare Worker that we operate and saved in Cloudflare’s KV storage under a random identifier. Nothing else is sent: no name, email address, device identifier, or other information about you.
Shared recipes are deleted automatically after 90 days, and the link then stops working. Until then, anyone who has the link can open the recipe, so share it only with people you trust. If the short link cannot be created (for example, when you are offline), PlanPot shares a longer link that contains the recipe itself; that recipe is not stored on any server.
Recipes that we publish ourselves, for example on social media, may use links that do not expire.
Cloudflare may process request metadata necessary to provide its infrastructure services. For more information see:
PlanPot uses a credit system to manage AI recipe imports. Credit usage is tracked locally on your device. No usage data is transmitted to or stored on our servers.
PlanPot offers optional in-app purchases (a one-time premium unlock and AI credit packs) processed entirely through Apple’s App Store via StoreKit. We never see, receive, or store your payment information. Purchases are governed by Apple’s App Store Terms.
We use the privacy-friendly analytics service TelemetryDeck (provider: TelemetryDeck GmbH, Von-der-Tann-Str. 54, 86159 Augsburg, Germany) to analyze app usage. The use is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, as we require reliable and efficient tools for collecting app usage data in order to provide the app to you.
The data processed by TelemetryDeck is anonymized and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about personal information. The following data is collected, among other things:
What is not stored:
The source code of the TelemetryDeck SDK is open source and available on GitHub. For more information, see the TelemetryDeck Privacy Policy.
PlanPot is intended for general audiences including families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because PlanPot does not require account creation and does not knowingly collect personal information from children, it is suitable for family use.
All your data lives on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, in your personal iCloud account. You can delete all local app data at any time by uninstalling PlanPot from your iPhone. Data synchronized through iCloud may persist until removed from your iCloud account in accordance with Apple’s retention practices. To manage or delete iCloud data, use the iCloud settings on your device. Recipes shared through a link are stored on our Cloudflare Worker for 90 days and then deleted automatically (see “Shared Recipe Links” above).
Because we do not collect or store personal data on our own servers, there is no data held by us to access, correct, or delete. For any data managed by Apple (iCloud, App Store), Google (Gemini), Cloudflare, or TelemetryDeck, please refer to their respective privacy controls.
The one exception is a recipe you share through a link, which we hold for up to 90 days (see “Shared Recipe Links”). If you would like a shared recipe removed earlier, contact us with its link and we will delete it.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you retain all rights granted under applicable law (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA). Given that we collect no personal data ourselves, these rights apply primarily to our third-party processors (Apple, Google, Cloudflare, TelemetryDeck) rather than to us directly.
We may update this policy as PlanPot evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Significant changes will be noted in the App Store release notes.
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, please contact us via the support option inside the PlanPot app, or through the contact information listed on our App Store page.
